Two factual corrections were made on 2026-07-27, both verified against the app source: the trial is metered by actions, not by 14 days, and the "Trap" this document promised does not exist in the software. See the notes at the foot of this file.

These Terms govern your use of Plumby (the "app") and this website. By downloading or using Plumby, you agree to them.

License

Plumby is licensed, not sold. On purchase you receive a personal license to run Plumby on up to 3 Macs you own or control.

Pricing (mirror the app / src/config/content.ts): $29/year, renewing automatically until cancelled — your installed version keeps working after a lapse, only updates pause — or a one-time $79 lifetime license including all future updates. 3 Macs per license.

You may not resell or redistribute the app or license keys, or reverse-engineer the app except where that restriction is prohibited by law. [CONFIRM / adjust.]

Free trial

Plumby is free to download and try, with no credit card and no account. The whole app is unlocked; what is limited is the number of changes you make.

The trial allows 5 metered actions. Everything else — every scan, every measurement, every view of what is on your Mac — is unmetered and stays free. Nothing is time-limited: an unused trial does not expire.

[PLACEHOLDER — the app currently meters system tweaks and the screenshot pipeline. firstAidRun is defined as a metered action but is not yet charged anywhere, and cleanups, process kills and uninstalls are not metered at all. State the list that will be true at launch, and make the marketing copy in content.ts match it.]

Payments & refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe; the seller is Ordinary Nerds, L.L.C. The Annual plan renews automatically until cancelled; Lifetime is a one-time purchase. Refunds: 14-day money-back.

Your files, and how Plumby acts

Plumby modifies only the items you select and confirm. Large cleanups are never automatic.

When Plumby removes something it can move to the Trash, it moves it to the macOS Trash rather than deleting it, so you can put it back until you empty the Trash yourself. Some items cannot be trashed and are removed outright.

You remain responsible for maintaining your own backups.

[⚠️ LEGAL REVIEW — this replaced a promise that reversible cleanups were "held in the Trap for 7 days". No such mechanism exists in the app; see the notes at the foot of this file. Counsel should decide whether the Trash sentence above is a commitment worth making at all, given it depends on macOS behaviour we do not control.]

Disclaimer of warranties

Plumby is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. [Counsel should finalize — this matters for a tool that removes files.]

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plumby and its makers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for data loss, arising from your use of the app. [PLACEHOLDER — liability cap; MUST be reviewed by counsel.]

Acceptable use

Don't use Plumby to break the law or to harm others' systems.

Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after a change means you accept it. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER — jurisdiction].
