End User License Agreement

Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER — effective date]

Draft — not legal advice. Replace every [PLACEHOLDER], and have a lawyer review the License, Warranty, and Liability sections before publishing. Note: this EULA overlaps with the License section of the Terms of Service — counsel should reconcile which document is authoritative. Then remove this line and set draft: false (that also flips the page from noindex to indexable).

Three factual corrections were made on 2026-07-27, verified against the app source: the trial is metered by actions rather than by 14 days, the "Trap" this document promised does not exist, and §6 contradicted §1 on what a lifetime licence includes. See the notes at the foot of this file.

This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you and Ordinary Nerds, L.L.C. ("we", "us") for the Plumby software (the "Software"). By installing or using the Software, you agree to this EULA.

1. License grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on up to 3 Macs that you own or control, subject to your purchase. Two license types are offered: an annual plan (currently $29/year), which renews automatically until cancelled and includes updates while active — your installed version continues to work after a lapse — and a lifetime license (currently a one-time $79), which includes all future updates.

2. Free trial

The Software is free to download and try, with no credit card and no account. The whole app is unlocked; what is limited is the number of changes you make.

The trial allows 5 metered actions. Scanning, measuring, and viewing what is on your Mac are unmetered and remain free. Nothing is time-limited — an unused trial does not expire. Once the 5 actions are spent, further metered actions require a valid licence.

[PLACEHOLDER — mirror the exact list of metered actions agreed for terms.md §Free trial; the two documents must not drift.]

3. Restrictions

You may not:

  • resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the Software or your license key(s);
  • use a license key on more than the permitted number of Macs;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • remove or alter any proprietary notices.

4. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. All rights, title, and intellectual property in the Software remain with Ordinary Nerds, L.L.C.

5. Your files and how the Software acts

The Software modifies only the items you select and confirm. Large cleanups are never automatic.

The Software refuses to remove anything inside your iCloud Drive or other cloud-storage folders, and it refuses to remove system directories.

When the Software removes something it can move to the Trash, it moves it to the macOS Trash rather than deleting it, so you can put it back until you empty the Trash yourself. Some items cannot be trashed and are removed outright.

You remain responsible for maintaining your own backups.

[⚠️ LEGAL REVIEW — this replaced two claims that overstated the code. (a) "never touches Documents, Desktop, Downloads" is unconditional in the old wording but conditional in the app: those folders are added to the protected list only under the app-data deletion policy, while iCloud and system paths are protected unconditionally. Either make the code unconditional and restore the sentence, or leave it out as it is now. (b) "held in the Trap for 7 days" describes a mechanism that does not exist. See the notes at the foot of this file.]

6. Updates

An annual licence includes updates for as long as it is active; if it lapses, the version you installed keeps working and only new updates stop. A lifetime licence includes every future version, with no renewal.

[⚠️ LEGAL REVIEW — this replaced "Your purchase includes 12 months of updates. Future major versions may require a renewal or new purchase", which contradicted §1 of this same document, contradicted the pricing on the website, and would have made the $79 "lifetime" licence a 12-month one in the only document that legally binds it.]

7. Termination

This license terminates automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete all copies.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. [Counsel should finalize — this matters for a tool that removes files.]

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for data loss, arising from your use of the Software. [PLACEHOLDER — liability cap; MUST be reviewed by counsel.]

10. Export & compliance

You agree to use the Software in compliance with all applicable laws, including export controls. [PLACEHOLDER — confirm obligations.]

11. Governing law

This EULA is governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER — jurisdiction]. [⚠️ LEGAL REVIEW — must match terms.md; see the note there.]
